T hey built a tow n, b u t no m ore m en cam e, an d ow ing to th e ab sence o f w om en j th ere w ere no children. This looked w ell for th e schem e, fo r the g irls th ey w ere to ru n off had nearly all been born since th e se ttle m e n t of L ad y b ird a n d w ere th e re fo re young.
