Coke made a a record for Coos county in granting divorces, six decrees being issued in two hours. All the plaintiffs were women and tney all live in Marshfield. Mr. and Mrs. W illiam Black, of M arshfield, celebrated their golden wedding and held a family reunion last Sunday. The old people are still in good h ealth. They were m arried on a farm near O akland, Douglas county in 186/), a year after Mrs. Black had come across th e plains from Missouri, in an ox curt. Four of their five children live on Coos bay. Mr. and Mrs. Black came to Coos Bay in 1875 and settled on a farm near Sum ner where they lived for nearly 40 years before retiring anil moving to Marshfield. Fearing th a t they had friends aboard the ill-fated Santa C lara, wrecked on Coos bay bar last week, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. W olverton, of Bandon, are trying to find the owners of pictures picked up among the wreckage on the beach. Three fram ed photographs, one of Mr. W olverton and one of his wife and the th ird of an elderly woman, whom they both recognized, yet cannot recall the nam e, were - found brought to Mr. W olverton. He states th a t the pic tures of him self and his wife were taken last spring, by a local photographer, and th a t he knows all of the persons to whom any of them have been given. The passenger list of th e Santa Clara shows no names whicn eith er of them recognize. A water spout, the most perfect ever seen on this section of the coast, formed in tint breakers ju st south of the m outh of the river a t Bandon one day last week, and moved nortwaril along th e coast six miles before breaking. It was first seen by m em bers of the Coast G uard as it rose out of the breakers. At its height It seemed to reach from th e w ater to a low-hanging black cloud, a stra ig h t colum n seven or eight feet th ic k , moving a t th a rate of about 80 miles an hour.
