3 teaspoons equal 1 tablespoon.
12 tablespoons (liquid) 1 cup
lt> tablespoons (dry) 1 cup.
2 cups 1 pint
2 tablespoons b u tter 1 ounce.
4 tablespoons Hour 1 ounce.
2 tablespoons liquid 1 ounce.
1 square B aker’s chocolate 1 ounce.
4 cups sifted flour 1 pound.
2 cups granulated sugar 1 pound.
Eggless Pumkin Pie.
Cook pum pkin, p ut through colander
and dry out in oven. To one q u art
sifted pum pkin add three cups boiling
m ilk. Sweeten w ith cup of brown
sugar, one-fourth cup m olasses, one-
half teaspoon* salt, one-half teaspoon
ginger, one-half teaspoon cinnam on, one
teaspoon vanilla. T urn into a tin lined
w ith rich crust. Allow fire to be brisk
for five m inutes then lower h eat and
allow to bake slowly one hour. The hot
m ilk causes the pum pkin to swell while
baking and m akes it as light as when
eggs are used.
Chocolate Ceokies.
One-half cup of b u tter, one tablespoon
lard, one cup sugar, one egg, one-fourth
teaspoon salt, one-half teaspoon ground
cinnam on, two teaspoons of chocolate,
two and a half scant cups flour, two
teaspoons baking powder, one-fourth
