Creek Conservation Center
The Clatsop County Citizen’s Police
Academy is back for its 11th year, aimed
at community members who have an
interest in law enforcement and want to
learn more about their local police agen-
cies.
Classes will be held every Tuesday
evening from 6 to 9 p.m., running from
April 17 to June 5.
“Our goal is to educate citizens about
the different aspects of law enforcement
and strengthen our community ties,” ac-
cording to Cannon Beach Police Chief
Jason Schermerhorn .
Participants will have an opportunity
to learn about each department, tour fa-
cilities, learn about crime scenes, learn
how to use the Taser and other weapons,
The conservancy is seek-
ing volunteers for a trails
stewardship day at its Circle
Creek Conservation Center
on Saturday, April 14, from
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to get the
trails ready for the season.
Volunteers will help with
activities that may include
brushing out and mulching
the 2.4-mile Wetlands Walk
and 0.8-mile Legacy Loop
and repairing anything dis-
turbed by winter storms and
flooding.

and work gloves if you have
them, and prepare to get mud-
dy. Dogs are not allowed on
habitat reserves.

on the job.
Those interested must be 18 years old
or older, and all applicants are subject to
a criminal background check. Applica-
tions are due by April 10. To request an

Police responding to a suspicious
situation gave a courtesy ride to a
woman to Helping Hands.

3:33 p.m., 500 block Nash: Report-
ing party told police an unknown
subject knocked on the door of the
residence where the reporting party
was staying. Thinking it was a de-
livery person, the reporting party
did not answer. An unknown male
then came on to the back porch and
watched the reporting party load
their vehicle and depart.
5:55 p.m., 100 block E. Gower: A
female subject with known mental
health issues told police someone
was harassing her by putting sticks
by her car and door.
10:58 p.m., 3400 block S. Hemlock:
A couple engaged in a verbal dis-
pute were warned for disorderly
conduct.

Dee’s: Police assist a motorist with
a dead battery.

Seaside police with a warrant arrest.

Seaside police with a domestic dis-
turbance. One subject was arrested.
4:03 a.m., 1100 block Avenue A:

One subject was arrested and a fire-
arm was confiscated.

Avenue: Subjects are warned of
overnight camping.
12:24 a.m., Second Street: Police
conduct a field interview with a man
hanging out near the restrooms.
3:21 a.m., Conference Center:
Police on patrol observe a sub-
ject attempting to pick the lock
on a vehicle. The subject had no
identification. Police contacted
the vehicle owner who said they
had locked themselves out of their
car and this person was trying to
help them. No criminal activity
was reported and all subjects were
properly identified.

wanted guests who refuse to leave
