Frei, an American Kennel Club-li- censed judge and, along with John O’Hurley, co-host of USA Network’s “Beverly Hills Dog Show Presented by Puri- na.” NBC’s Mary Carillo will report from the benching area and inside the show ring, while Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir offer a behind-the-scenes look at the show as reporters and digital contributors. As the co-host of NBC’s National Dog Show Presented by Purina since its inception in 2002, Frei is seen every Thanksgiving Day by the larg- est TV audience for any dog show — most recently more than 25 million viewers in 2016. It is the same role that he perfected in 27 years as the longtime co-host of USA Net- work’s Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. He has now added to his duties with NBC/USA as co- host of the Beverly Hills Dog Show, which debuted on Eas- ter in 2017. Being America’s “dog guy” has brought him many appearances on network tele- vision, including “Today,” “NBC Nightly News,” “Good Morning America,” “Fox & Friends,” “The View,” Martha Stewart,” and more. Lamp-lighting and holiday tea Cannon Beach’s long-run- ning lamp-lighting in Sand- piper Square and holiday tea at the library are just the start of several festive events that will get visitors in the holi- day spirit over the weekend of Dec. 1-3. The traditional holiday tea at the library, followed by the lamp-lighting ceremony in Sandpiper Square happen on Saturday afternoon, but sev- eral other events will round out a full weekend of holiday activities. Coaster Theatre Playhouse has two performances of Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol” over the weekend and the Cannon Beach Chorus will be giving their annual holiday concert on Saturday night. Additionally, the cham- ber of commerce will offer a wreath-making class on Sat- urday. Arts council seeks two members EO Media Group The Arts Council of Clat- sop County is seeking appli- cations for two vacancies. Members must be county residents or own a property, business or rent studio space. One seat is currently vacant and expires at the end of 2019 while the other runs from the beginning of 2018 through the end of 2021. The committee, formed in 2014, conducts arts advocacy in the county. Its biggest proj- ect so far was a recent partic- ipation in a national study on arts’ impact on the economy. The study concluded that arts haul in more than $13 million to the county.
