A MESSAGE FROM THE INTERIM
CITY MANAGER REGARDING THE
NATIONAL CITIZEN SURVEY
As a part of the City’s strategic planning
initiative all households within the city limits of
Cannon Beach (zips 97110 and 97145) will be
receiving The National Citizen Survey (NCS).
You should receive a post card in early October
informing you that your household will be
receiving the survey. You should receive the
first survey packet around mid-October and a
reminder survey packet will be mailed about a
week later; in case you have not already returned
the completed survey.
If you do not receive a survey packet at all,
or you misplace it, you will be able to fill out
the survey online through a link on our City of
Cannon Beach website to the National Research
Center who administers the survey. Once there,
you will be able to select either an English
version or a Spanish version.
If your post office box is registered as a
business, but you use it for personal mail as
well, you will not receive a survey packet. We are
not surveying businesses, but we are surveying
residents. However, you will still have the
opportunity to fill out the survey online.
The NCS is a nationally acclaimed community
livability assessment tool. It was developed by
experts to produce clear, unbiased and accurate
results. Although many questions are applicable
to all cities you will notice that there are also
questions specific to our community. Your City
Council has given great consideration to the
3 questions pertaining specifically to Cannon
Beach residents.
The NCS will assist council and staff in
prioritizing city services that citizens feel are most
important. Rarely do we hear from more than
a handful of residents on any given topic. Not
everyone can attend City Council meetings. The
National Citizen Survey will be your opportunity
to have your voice heard. Remember, you will
have the option of completing the survey either
online or in a paper format.
Please remember that your response is
completely anonymous. We look forward to
hearing from you!
