• Proclaimed September 17-23, 2016 as Consti-
tution Week in Cannon Beach;
• Overturned the Planning Commission’s denial
of APP 16-02, an appeal by Breakers Point
Homeowners Association of the Planning
Commission’s denial of their request to modify
the revegetation plan of CU 15-03, allowing
dune grading West of the Breakers Point Con-
dominium Development;
• Upheld the Public Works Committee denial of
a utility relief request;
• Approved the evaluation form and schedule
for the annual City Manager evaluation.
• Public Works Director Dan Grassick presented
the contract advertisement for the Fir Street
Bridge Rehabilitation.
PLANNING COMMISSION - At their August
25, 2016 meeting the Planning Commission
discussed:

The City of Cannon Beach is seeking applications for the following vacancies:
PARKS & COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEE: Two (2) vacancies to ill four-year terms. The
primary responsibility of the Parks & Community Services Committee is to review and evaluate
existing programs, identify needs, and develop plans for and recommend programs related
to the City’s parks and community services. The Parks & Community Services Committee holds
its regular meeting on the third Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m. and may schedule work
sessions as needed.
To be eligible to serve on a City committee, applicants must have resided within the city or
its urban growth boundary during the one year immediately preceding appointment; or at
the time of appointment, shall have owned real property located within the city or its urban
growth boundary for at least one year immediately preceding appointment. Applications

• Approved the staff recommendation of con-
tract award for the Fir Street Bridge Rehabilita-
tion project;
• Finance Director Laurie Sawrey presented the
FY 2015-16 end of year inancial report;
• City Manager Brant Kucera presented the
intercity transit enhancement plan for the Til-
lamook - Manzanita/Cannon Beach bus;
• Discussed the property at the old Cannon
Beach Elementary School including the struc-
tural evaluation of the old gymnasium and its
projected cost of repair.
DESIGN REVIEW BOARD - The August 18,
2016 and September 15, 2016 meetings were
cancelled. The DRB is scheduled to meet
Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 6:00pm in the
City Hall Council Chambers.
