Come to Cannon Beach November 4-6, 2016 for
STORMY WEATHER ARTS FESTIVAL
A
weekend full of art events, musical performances, artist demonstrations and gallery
receptions make the Stormy Weather Arts Festival one of Cannon Beach’s most
popular annual events. Popular events during the November 4-6 festival will include
a spotlight concert featuring Ellen Whyte, the Stormy Weather Fashion Show and
the Art in Action Dinner and Auction. Throughout the weekend, the town’s
galleries will present special events showcasing the artists they represent, with
many of the artists on hand to present their latest works, conduct
demonstrations or discuss their work.
The festival kicks off with a Friday night spotlight concert in the intimate 200-seat Coaster Theatre that
will showcase Grammy-nominated singer songwriter Ellen Whyte and her five-piece band. In addition
to Grammy nominations, Whyte has garnered several awards from the Cascade Blues Association
including an induction into their Hall of Fame for Best Contemporary Blues Band in 2002.
Saturday’s events happen against a backdrop of live music with performances throughout the town
during the day. The morning Stormy Weather Fashion Show will feature fashions from local designers
and shops. At the evening Art in Action event, professional artists will demonstrate their techniques
and create works of art available for purchase during the event’s banquet and silent auction.
Cannon Beach is home to over a dozen art galleries and has been named one of “The 100 Best Art
Towns in America” by author John Villani in his book by the same title. Many of the gallery’s most
successful national and regional artists, as well as prominent local artists, will be showcased during
the festival.
