Lambs on the Oregon Coast,
just in time for Spring Unveiling
N
New works by artist Diane Speakman will be
featured this weekend during Spring Unveiling
in Cannon Beach. Lamb season is upon us and
we couldn’t resist the temptation to celebrate
these incredible little creatures.
Diane Speakman, owner of Sesame and
Lilies, has been painting on the Oregon coast
for over seventeen years. While Cannon Beach
is a main attraction for canines, Sesame and

Lilies has become a main attraction for their
owners. A versatile painter who is best known
for her coastal landscapes, she has expanded
her repertoir to include bird paintings, dog por-
traits and farm animals. Diane paints on canvas
and hardboard in acrylic. Over the past couple
of years, she has been experimenting with color
and form, painting large abstracts on canvas.
A reception is planned for Saturday, May 2.
Sharon Amber explores
the painterly art of cloisonne
enameling this spring with new
works in silver and gold. The
transparent gem colors come
alive in her miniature landscapes
and seascapes. Sharon lives and
works in Cannon Beach, and has
practiced the ancient art of
cloisonne since 1970. “I love the
freedom of expression it affords,”
says Sharon, “and I take it
seriously, as high-fire enamels
can last thousands of years.”
