Stand ardization of wages of common and unskilled labor to halt the enormous labor turnover that is slowing up war work throughout the country, was under consider ation today by the department of labor. Such a move is essential to equal distribution of the present labor supply officials of the de partment say, because of varying wage rates and inequality of houring conditions. Under the standardized wage plan, a carpenter, for instance, would get the same wage in Ore gon as in New Jersey.. This would automatically take away the temptation to large groups of men to concentrate in one district at the expense of others.
