NO. 51 GAUDIES UCLATE PETITIONS Campbell, Kennedy and Burns Running For ... "Ccuncilmen. City election is only afew weeks off and several candidates for tho different offices have been having their petitions circulated this week. For Rec order, Jerry Hartshorn will make the race against M. Fitzmaurice, present incumbent. Otis Campbell, Chas. Kennedy, and J. D. Burns will run for .councilman but have not signi fied whether for the two or one year term. These are all good .zr.en and substantial citizens, who have lived here long enough to understand the situation and all of them would make good councilmen. Oscar Portwood and P. H. Stephenson will prob ably be candidates to succeed themselves and as there is yet nearly two weeks in which to file their petitions other candid ates will probably make their appearance. Alex Robertson will run for city Treasurer and should have no opposition. Hire and Scott are holdovers, together with Mayor Wood. Politics will cut no ice in election whatever. What the city needs is a good business administration devoid of factionalism, and with this idea in mind the voters can select from the candidates men who wiil work for the interests of the many and seek to lighten the heavy burden of debt under which tho former councils have worked.
