Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Blakely
spent a few days during the fore
part of the week in Arlington.

J. W. Pentecost of Mayville
passed through Condon last Sat
urday evening on his way home
from hunting geese.
The total amount of rainfall in
this county since the 1st of Oct
ober amounts to 2.85 inches.
According to all records this is
the largest precipitation ever
known in this county during the
months of October and Novem
ber and never were the indica
tions of a bumper crop better
than this fall.

N. Howland of Gwendolen, was
in town during the. past week
and dropped in the Globe office
to take advantage of the club

J. C. Hansen of the Portland
Metal Works, who has been in
this city for several weeks sup
erintending the laying of the
tile roofing on the academy
building, returned to his home
in Portland the fore part of . the
week.
J. Eggleston of the firm of
Eggleston - Brumbaugh Co,
painters and decorators of Port
land and McMinnviHe, arrived
in Condon Monday to begin work
on the new academy building.
With his partner, Mr. Brumbaugh
who has been here several days,
he expects to rush the work to
early completion.

Miss Johanna McFarland this
week ordered the Globe sent to
her old home on the Erict river,
Old-Rattray, Perthshire, Scotland.
The Saturday Evening Club
spent a very enjoyable evening
at the home of Mayor N. Farns
worth on last Saturday evening.
The usual program passed oft
very pleasantly, after which all
present were royally feasted at a
sumptuous spread prepared, by
the young men of the Club. On
next Saturday evening the club
will meet at the home of Miss
Barker.
J. N. Bayliss left Tuesday, for
McMinnviHe where he will tran
sact business connected with the
new Academy.
Chas. Oberg, of the firm of
Oberg & Engberg, plasterers
and lathers of Portland,, made a
few minutes call at this .office
Tuesday and ordered the Globe
sent- to him .for the ensuing
year. Mr. Oberg "expressed
himself as being pleased with
the work done on the Academy
by his crew under the super
vision Of his partner, 0. Oberg.'
