Miss Delia Randall of Olex,
who has been the guest of rel
atives during the past week,
returned home yesterday. She
was accompanied by her sister
MiBS Mildred Randall.
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hunt went
to Portland yesterday morning
to spend Thanksgiving with their
daughter and her husband, Mr.
and Mrs. Travis. Their son,
Harold, who is attending the
University of Oregon, joined
the family reunion.
F. E. Reynolds of Gwendolen
was in town Wednesday' and
while here made a pleasant call
at this office, renewing his ub-
criDtion to the Globe. He ex
pressed himself as being much
i) eased with the Globe and said
it is the best nt-ws medium in
this section of the state.
Wayne Grider stopped ua on
the street this week and ordered
the Globe sent to his address for
the coming year. They all appre
ciate a real newspaper.
J. B. White left for the Dalles
oa'4Yednenday, where he expects
to iWnd Thanksgiving day. He
will -stop in Arlington long
enough to shoot a few geese.

A crew of loggers for the new
sawmill of the Arlington Lum
bet Co. on Thirty-mile, were in
town Wednesday on their way to
their work. While in town they
purchased several wagon loads
of supplies from our merchants,
W. A. Campbell returned Tues
day from a week's business trip
to Portland, The Dalles and
Heppner.
Marcus Aardama left for La'
moni, Iowa, on Wednesday to
visit friends and relatives. He
may decide to make his home in
Iowa.
It ia reported that R. R. Butler
will locate in Moro to practice
law and his office will be in the
rooms formerly occupied by
Judge Littlefield in the new brick
block Grass Nalley Journal.
When seen the first of the week
Mr. Butler said that in all proba
bility he would onen an office at
Moro, but would conduct it as a
branch of the office in this city
' A fire alarm was turned in on
Monday evening as a small fire
had been discovered in the Dams
livery barn. ' Mr. Dams discov
ered the blaze in time to put it
out before any damage was done.
A fire which had been started in
the stove, caused a coat hanging
on the wall near the stove pipe
to catch on fire ' and had it not
been for the timely arrival of the
proprietor a large blaze might
have resulted. Chas. Harrison
first attempted to turn in an
alarm from the box at the Pa
ace Hotel corner but as it did not
respond, made a run for the fire
bell at the city hall.
Among the things on which
chances are being sold on for the
coming Bazaar is a 2,000 mile
book. Kood in Oregon. Washing
ton and Idaho on the lines of the
O. R, & N. and Southern Pacific
This book is good for a year.
Its good for five round trips to
Portland and return ; with, over

Dr. Bancroft the psychologist,
has been secured by the public
schools to give two of his fam
ous lectures in our city. The
series of lectures he will give
will be intensely interesting and
useful information. He is a
talented gentleman of pleasing
personality. He possesses the
rare faculty which enables the
clever lecturer to make what he
has to say interesting in the
highest degree. His powerful
discourse on "Hoodooa" will be
an interesting and educational
treat as the study of mental
phenomena has assumed gigan
tic proportions, and it is well to
get information of the presumed
to be suDermundane right from
fountain head as Dr. Bancroft
is and has been for years const
dered an authority in the realm
of Dsvchic research.
Dr. Bancroft's series of lec
tures and - entertainments
throughout aDDcal to the higher
capacities of the intellect, and
the size of his audience should
afford a pretty active index to
the element of his progress in
any community. The ieatures
of entertainment in which the
doctor is assisted by D. Lillian
Lewis, is of highest order of
merit '--
The public school of our city
deserve great praise in securing
such noted talent for our city,
as they have arranged for them
to appear under their auspices
in our city for two evenings.
