Dora Thorne A Fine Play.
The largest crowd that has as
sembled at the local play house
this season greeted the Walters
& Christ Stock Co. in their pre
sentation of "Dora Thorne, "las
Saturday evening. The title rol
was splendidly interpreted bj
Miss Hilda Graham. There is t
naturalness about Miss Graham's
work which gives it strength and
finds favor with the audience,
Her enunciation is clear and she
reads the most emotional pas
sages without ranting. She is
destined to win a high place
among Pacific coast actresses,
Miss Graham was at one time
with the Baker Stock Co. in
Portland. C. Cyril Broke who
played "Ronald Earle" did so
in fine style. Miss Matthews as
"Lady Valentine Chartreus" did
some clever acting and Miss
Murray as "Letitia Earle" was
pleasing. Hugh Bennett gave
one of the best impersonations of
the evening.' His "Stephen
Gloves, hats, trousers, rubber goods and in fact everything in the
entire stock at ridiculously low prices. Don't fail to attend
this Sale.
Thorne" was a type cleverly por
trayed. The other characters
were satisfactory and the play
as a whole was thoroughly
enjoyable.
