Ira Phillips and wife, of Clem,
were Condon visitors the first
of the week. ,
Miss llattie Loftin is visiting
in town, the guest of her sister,
Mrs. Blakeley.

Miss Jean Blake who has been
the guest of her mother, Dr.
Blake, for the past month, ret
urned to her home in Baker City
on last Saturday.
Chas. H. Horner returned to
Condon last Saturday after a
week or ten days' visit in Salem
and Turner. Mrs. Horner re
mained in the valley for a while
longer visiting her parents.
Helen Morill, of this city, vis
ited during the past week in
Arlington, as the guest of Zedah
Sweeten, and returned Thursday
accompanied by Miss Sweeten
who will visit her during the big
celebration. 1
Rev. L. N. B. Anderson, pas
tor of the Methodist church at
Arlington, has tendered his res-

charge of the local office. The
change is due, as mentioned two
weeks ago in The Globe, to the
removal of W. N. Pattullo to the
company's Spokane office. Mr.
Pattulo left Tuesday for his new
field of activity.

morning for a few days trip to
Baker City.
Mrs. A. J. Shelton returned
Monday from an extended visit
in Milton.
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Adkins
and family who have made Con
don their home for the past six
months, left Tuesday morning
for their new home in Milton.
Jack Bryant left Tuesday mor
ning for The Dalles, his future
home. He and the Fletcher
Bros, have taken possession of
the Midway saloon in that city.
Jack will have charge of the
business.
W. H. Morrison and' Jess
Beardsley, of Arlington, arrived
in Condon Monday to help in the
Kerr, Gifford Warehouse during
the wool baling season. The
boys will stay and celebrate in
town during the Fourth.
Agent Smith, for the Holt
harvesters, says that , he has
placed $20,000 of machinery so
far this season in the vicinity of
Condon and that before the sea
son ends it will run up to $80,-
000. ' A threshing machine
which was sent back to Walla
Walla on Tuesday morning bore
a sign inscribed, "Driven out of
Condon by the Holt harvester."
