BIG CROWD in ATTENDANCE
Final Score Stands 7 to 0 In
Favor of Concon Grays
Echoes from the
Side Lines.
Once again the baseball war
riors of the thriving town of
Clem had to surrender in the
ninth canto to the Condon Grays
before a yelling, shouting crowd
of enthusiastic fans who braved
dust and breeze to see the splen
did finish of the matinee pulled
off at the local grounds Sunday
afternoon. Final Bcore 7 to 9.
Clem had come prepared for
battle and a number of recruits
had been sworn in by both teams
to give spice and ginger to the
afternoon's sport. The visitors
put up a much speedier article
of ball than two weeks ago and
had they shown a little better
judgment at critical times, the
tale of the contest would
have had a happier ending.
In the seventh inning the Grays
found the Clem pitcher for four
costly hit that brought the
victory to the locals.

the foundations. The new build

and will be ready for occupancy
at the beginning of the fall term.

WOOL GROWERS SATISFIED
Same Grade of Wool Gets
Higher Price Here Than
At Other Markets.
Quite a number of wool clips
were sold in this city lost Friday
at private sales. In spite of the
fact that no regular sales day
was held with the presence of a
large number of buyers to en
gage in lively bidding, the grow
ers who sold are jubilant over
the prices received as they say
they got more money in the long
run than did their neighbors
who hauled several days to Hepp
neror Shaniko.
Among those who sold were:
B. C. L S.&Co., 100,000 H)s.
at 14 cents; W. J. Russel, 18,
000 lbs. at 13 1-2 cents; Niven
Bros. 14 cents; Hoover & Kelsay
13 1-2 cents. Others who sold
at prices ranging from 12 to 14
cents were Alex Hardie, W. II.
Hoover and William Rettie.
It is said that the class of wool
brought here sold for a cent
higher than it did either at
Heppncror at Shaniko.
D. S. Brown lost one of his
valuable mules the past week.
