Tho Oregonian,, with an Im
partial desire for justice which is
echoed by every respectable
newnpaper in Oregon, -dcmandu
that Mr. Heney make known
without equivocation the specific
charges which he claims to hold
against Senator Fulton. Insinu
ations and mysterious sugges
tions of wrong doing, thrown out
for the political injury of a prom
inent citizen, are unfair and un
worthy of respect. Mr. Fulton
is entitled to know the accusa
tions against him and if Mr.
Heney knows of anything really
damairinar to his character he
should state it -

Mr. Bryan declares that he
has made enough money in the
past ten years to make him in
dependent for life. And this
would be a good argument - with
some interests against electing
him to tile presidency. ,
Election time is getting nearer
and nearer the voters of Gilliam
county and of this district yet
the political talk among the peo
ple has been very quiet no can
didates having' given out their
bonafide announcements and in
tention of becoming candidates
for certain offices. What the
voters of this county and district
, want is good strong men men
who will work for the good of
the people and not for their own
selfish end, men who will stand
by the new order of things, and
will get away from the old
regime which meant dollars into
their own pockets. The coming
election will give the voter a
chance to make a choice of men
to whom he give! power, and
thus requires the greatest pos
sible attention and good judg
ment on the part of the voter. "
Sore because the fellow who
had been advertising was getting
all the results, is the sad state
of mind of the other fellow who
claims to have advertising space
to sell to the good merchants of
this city yes, dead space, with
a bunch of gossip thrown in
Space which if he cannot use
himself to his own advantage is
no earthly good to anyone else.
Better wake' up and drive the
hatchet into the ground and get
unto the vast resources of Gil
liam county, spread the good
news to the world and let your
journal be of some value to the
community which is supporting
you.

Forgets Purse Containing $67
How would you like to be the
fellow who had just bought some
thing from the "newsy" on the
train and in the attempt to "dig
up" find that your pocket book
with $67 was a "minus quantity. "
This was the sad misfortune' of
Tvtlio Trammels who returned
from a week's trip to Spokane
last Monday. Trammels had
stopped over night in Pendleton
in order to make connection with
the Pendleton local and - in the
wee hours of the morning in the
endeayor to make, the train in
plenty of time forgot his purse.
' Not until he reached into his
pockets on needing money to pay
for something on the train, did
he become aware of the fact
that his roll of money had been
left behind.
' Having a through ticket he
got home allright, but had to
write a letter to the hotel as he
did not have the price of a tele
gram. He went back to work
on the M. K. Thompson ranch,
and we hope that his money has
been returned.
