NEWS OF THE WEEK
Tom 0. rullen of Lone Rock
was a Condon visitor tho first of
the week. .
The fiidewalk which waa order
ed built ant from the corner of
Hunt's hardware store ia nearly
completed.
The Mount Hood Saloon has
again changed hands, Mr. Conner
selling out to Reratt & Raper of
Hood River. Both gentlemen
have had considerable experience
in the saloon business, Mr.
Reratt having formerly conduct
ed a saloon in Hood River. Mr.
Conser is as yet undecided as to
what business he will engage in,
but will probably leave Condon.
Mason Ebbert has got a new
Mitchell wagon with low wheels
and two inch tire. He bought
it of Hunt, The Hardware Man
who has more wagons to sell
Joseph Frizell recently bought
C A. Danneman's cattle about
200 head -and is wintering them
and 100 more in the straw fields
in the Clem neighborhood.
When spring opens, Mr. Frizzell
intends to take all his, cattle to
Lake county, ' whore outside
range is abundant, though water
scarce. He spent two months in
Lake county last fall looking
over the ground, and came to
the conclusion that it is a much
better place for a man with a
large band of cattle than this.
Mr. Danncman has gone to Cor
vallis to spend the winter with
his family. Fossil Journal. .
The way the new subscriptions
have been pouring into this office
of late shows that the people of
Gilliam county are beginning' to
realize that they cannot keep
posted on everything in county
news without reading the lead
ing county paper.
