Harold Hunt, who has been
spending his vacation with hia
parent in Condon, left Tuesday
morning to return to school at
Eugene. This will be his junior
year at the University. He will
visit a few days with friends and
relatives in Portland.

morning for a few days business
visit in Portland.
Chas Hein of Maville transact
ed business in Condon Tuesday.
Mr. Hein reports that hia grain
1b all threshed and under cover
and he will start hauling to Con
don as soon as the roads which
were washed out by the cloud
burst last week, are in shape to
haul over. He has cut 1100 ac
res of grain with his combine and
says the grain has been good al
the way through. The wheat on
his ranch averaged 28 bushels
per acre.
0. D. Sturgess, cashier of the
Arlington National Bank, was in
Condon Monday evening looking
after business interests in this
vicinity.
Rev. Crooks, who has been
conducting a camp meeting south
of Fossil for some time, pas sec
through Condon Monday morn
ing. The meeting is reported as
being fairly successful.
Leland and Mary. Steiwer of
Eossil passed through Condon
Wednesday morning on their way
to Eugene where they will at
tend school the ensuing year.
G. W. Parman was a business
visitor in the vicinity of Gwen
dolen Wednesday.

A. N. Montgomery, of the firm
of Enberg & Montgomery of
Blalock, was a business visitor in
Condon a few days last week.
Jack Brown, who has been in
Idaho this summer with the sheep
returned Saturday evening. He
will visit here for a week or two
before going back' to Portland
where he will attend, school.
Wm. Long, who has been here
for, some time working with E.
M. Larkin setting up Best Com
bined Harvesters, left Monday
morning for his home at Blalock.
He reports the combines all run

came up from The Dalles Sun
day evening to look after busi
ness matters for a few days.
Henry Wilkes who formerly
worked for the Condon Furniture
& Hardware Co. but who has
lately been in Walton, Wyoming,
came in Sunday evening for a
month's visit with friends.
R. L. Hunt installed a new
typewriter this week. It is a
Smith Premier of the latest pat
tern and is a good machine.
