A bill will be introduced at the
next legislative session providing
for the creation of two new justices
of the Supreme court. The present
three members of the court seem
wholly unable to dispose of the
cases on the docket as is shown by
the foot that Gilliam county now
has in its bastile a murderer who
has been lodged there for nearly
two years awaiting the verdict of
the higher oourt on his appeal.
This star boarder should long ago
have been oomfortably housed in
the penetentiary at Salem but is
still boarding in the juil at the ex
pense of the taxpayers of the
county.
