On Wedneeday of thi. week occurred
the death of Mr. J. W, Amend. The
deceased waa both at Buda, Illinois,
September Sl.t, 1S67, her maiden name
being Alice F. Saeet. In the year 1873
.he waa united in marriage with J. W.
Amend. She had recently arrived from
Teta. and during bar abort residence
t.ore made raanr friend. The luneral
will take place at 10 o'clock thi. morn
ing from the L. D. 8. Church.
MRS. M. WEATHERFORD
Mr. M. Weatherford, grandmother
of Ray Steele, died at th home of the
latter in thia city, Wednesday after
noon. Mr. Weatherford I on of the
pioneer of Oregon. She settled in
Portland over fifty year ago and has
bean a resident of that city every since.
She arrived with her daughter in Con
don a month ago, expecting to make
her future home with her grandchild.
