The country u settling up and developing and the town tnust follow snit. Condon is, in fact, in a period of transition, in this year ot grace, from a village to a modern town and every citizen should appreciate this fact and should cast about for the best means at his command by which to assist in promoting the general welfare. In a little more than a month city election will be held and it is safe to say that, uot only has an election of equal importance never before been held in the town but that perhaps at no time in the future will a set of city otlicials be chosen whose acts will have so stress an ir.Suer.cs cn the future weal or woe of the municipality. There are many problems of great importance to the town to bo met and solved during the coming year, among which may be mentioned the matter of a greater water sup ply, a sewer system and a general improvement in municipal con ditions which will be rendered im perative by the rapid growth of the town. Because of this it is the duty of every citizen to join with other citizens in a concerted effort to select only the very best men available for city oflicials. Politics, factional difl'erences, personal fueds everything of this kind should bo relegated to the rear for the present and all should join in selecting for city oilicers men of known ability progressive, broad minded, honest and fearless men whose watch word will be "A greater and better Condon." Men are now needed who know some thing of what the town needs and who can take hold of new con ditions as they arise and meet them intelligently; who are willing to give up a portion of their time and talents for the general welfare; who want to see Condon the best town of its size in the northwest and who will take pride in helping to make it such.
