his deep diBgust and chagrin that

only one thing any self-respecting
man could do under such dietresB

he did. He took out his "ad" and
stopped his paper. He cut the
OlobeS" at the pockets. He knew
that this paper kept "hands off" in
the campaign but be must have
reasoned that in some mysterious,
uncanny, supernatural sort of a
way, the Globe did him up. That
silent, all ,prevading, all' powerful
"influence" of ours must have got
ten in its work. Once more the
Globe did it sure pop.

and its advertising patronage
