been given out by Deputy Sheriff Day.
Before going on the scaffold, Day told
Branton that when the noose 11a nH.

the black cap was adjusted, Branton
leaned over to Mr. Day and asked him
which way to lean his head. He was
. told to the left. IJe immediatly stood
erect and inclined his head in that manner.
