M. E. CHURCH NOTES
The parsonage has received f-
thorough overhauling during th
oast three weeks. The who!
lpper floor has been papered and
ceiled, porches repaired, noois
painted, and much ether worV,
aesides, thanks to the very efn-
cient Cadies' Aid society.
The membership of the church
has well nigh doubled during tht
past six montks.
Rev. E. R. Horner, our beloved
superanuate preacher and once
pastor here, has passed away t
a better country, and we miss his
cherry smile and kind greetings
Our third quarterly eonfeienct
was held at Cedar Mills Tuesday.
May 12. And what an enjoyabU
time it was !
A business session closed th
day's program. Several team:
came from Beaverton.
New Power
David Reghetta is using "goal
power" to roll his onions this
spring. Goats have so small feet
that not many of the onions arc
trampled, and if they can't "pul"
the load" they are bully on the
bunt "work, both ways." .
Surprk
Party
There was a surprue party at
Hite's place, Hiton, Saturda
evening, in honor oi Miss Evelyi
Heath. The evening was spent ii
playing games. The toothpuUing
machine "blew up," and near-
putting the doctor out of com
mission. "The oldtime circuser, V Robin
son of Robinson and Bailey's, fa
mous shows of trick giraffes of
the 6unny past, was present, and
put on the wonderful Tornado
Trick, tatching "half a dollar ir
the funnel," which was a hum
mer and brought down the house.
This man Robinson builds some
of the best rock roads, and is
"figuring on" a patent for a new
design of "corn-shucker."
A big crowd was present, and
had a merry time, and report
comes in that one fellow going
West caio near getting lost, the
"night being so dark."
