Read them over carefully, and make comparsions with the books used last term of school. Do you note any radical changes that justified the big swap ? Is it not same old story that the big change occurs in the pocketbook of parents all over Oregon ? Tell you it makes the pocketbook of the family of 6 or 8 look "mighty sick." Isn't it high time to head off this big game of the book Corporations ? There will be a chance next year. ' The features of the game for the visitors were the long running catch of Catcher Strieker of a foul near the grandstand, great v.ork of Bunnell in left field, Peitre on second, and clown antics of "Sheep Herder Moses" in right field. For the home boys Howell's great pitching, fanning 16 to Haggersoll's 6, Tal'.man's g -eat work securing 3 hits; 1 walk in 4 times up, and stole 4 bases, and made 4 runs, 2 double plays, 0. Ore., to take up her school work for the coming year. A pleasing sur prise was a shower given by her friends, and many little tokens of friendship were presented. A novel supper was served, and at tractive decorations were of As tors and Autumn leaves. An en joyable time was, had, and. all joined in Y'ishing her a happy trip and a successful school year. Muessig Beaverton City Schools Begin The Beaverton public school began on Monday, September 22, with a big attendance Pincipal Mclntire and his co workers,' Miss Chase, and the Misses Van Blaricom, have their work well started. The sweep ing change in text books natural ly complicates matters in all Schools of the State. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Spies, for merly Miss Alma Foege of Elmc- nica, Ore., have just returned from a fascinating trip of the Northwest. The sweetest of all trips is the HONEYMOON you know. When leaving they visit ed the circus at Portland, where many of their friends helped en tertain them. Going from the Rose City to Walla Walla over the O.-W. R. & N., visiting some of the finest orchards, parks, and wheat fields of Oregon and Wash ington, they enjoyed many auto trips near Pomeroy and Milton. At Walla. Walla they saw one of the prettiest parks of the West. After one week's honeymoon through some of the best parts of the great Columbia River re gions, they returned over the North Bank to the greatest of all places Good old Washington County. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Spies will make their new home near Elmo nica. May their wedded life be one long sweet journey is the best wishes of the Owl.
