TUTTD1 Of CLUB MEETS 122238 PARENTS VISIT SCHOOL The Progress Pareht-Teadhers Club visited the sc'hddl last Fri day afternoon and had a pleasant session. The President Mrs. A, V. Denney delivered an instruct tve address upon the "Aims and Btnefita" of tfie Club. Mrs McGowan made an impressive pla for "Thoroughness" in school work while Earl E. Fish er spcke bh Higher Ideals. For the entertainment of thoie present the scholars of the 2nd, 4th. and 6th. grades went throu gh ' some Lightning Drills in Mathematics and the little folks make the "figures ,.flv" and if Anyone doubts it they are invited io come over and add a few ool yms with!, ( t;he boys, everybody present had an instructive time! BAND PLAYS The Beaverton Band Boys had a big rehearsal Monday, night a big croTrd were present and en- puisam ran high. NEW Church MISSION SERVICES BY PAULIST FATHERS School-opens in September and will fee conducted by the Sisters of St. Mary's Institute. A miss ion directed by the Paulist Fath ers of Portland begins on the Sunday June 8 and lasts for a week. Services each morning will be at 8 a. m. and in the eve ning at 7 p. m. Stephens was sen tenced by Judge Campbell Tues day to serve from one to 10 years in the penitentiary and pay the costs of his arrest. Martin, indicted for bur glarizing McCormick's jewelry store, was arraigned and pleaded guilty and was sentenced to from one to seven years in the peni tentiary. E. L. Devenport was arraigned and iveh until -Saturday, May 31, to plead. The same date was set for receiving the pleas of Carl and Antone Christner and R. E. Britton. Amendment of the cost bill, in the trial of Walton vs. Brugge man was argued and certain Tidifications made.
