Beaverton Commercial Club did
not hold Its regular meeting Wednes
day night, owing to the illness of cer
tain of its members, the absence of
others from the city and because of
some forgetting that the meeting
uulb nuu itmn cnungea.
The next meeting will be held on
the third Wednesday of this month,
the change being made in oredr that
members of this club might attend
meetings of the Huber Commercial
Club and members of that club attend
here if they so desire. The Huber
Club will meet next Wednesdav nififht
and the local club on 'Wednesday of

Sealed proposals will be received
by the County Court of Washington
County, Oregon, until two P. M.,
February 9, 1U20, and then opened
for the crushing of rock at the fol
lowing County Plants: Hazeldale,
two miles south of Reedville; Lucks,
six miles north of Mountaindale,
Jackson, two miles north of Connell
on the United Railway; Beaverton
quarry, about one mile north of Bea
veftonjHillside quarry, about 6 miles
northwest of Forest Grove; Laurel
quarry, near Laurel; and Manning
quarry, northwest of Banks.
The County will furnish machinery
and tools.
A certified check for $100.00 must
accompany each bid, and the Court
reserves the right to reject any or all
bids. Specifications may be seen at
the; office of the County Judge.

Engraved memorial certificates,
significant of France's gratitude to
America, will be presented the near
est relatives of all Oregon boys who
died during the World War in the
uniform of their Country. Cere
monies throughout the state will be
under the auspices of local Pasta of
the American Legion on February
22nd.
France selected the American
Legion as the representative of this
country's fighters and tho agency
through which the delivery of the
memorials should be made. The
certificates are delivered to the war
dpartment and distributed to all
parts of the country through the re
cruiting offices.
The army recruiting office at
Potland is receiving the memorials
for this district. As soon as com
plete lists of soldier dead have been
compiled and checked over, the cer-
j tiiicates will be turned over to State

ion at rortland and lrom there sent
directly to local Posts. 1

can artist, and are commemorative
