Saturday afternoon March 15th,
Scouts Lesion Fairweather, . Jack
Malarkey, Raymond Rossi and We8
ley Cook' were successful in thai
portion of the test necessary to
qualify for Eecond Class Rank, by
covering the distance of one mile at
Scout's pace in twelve minutes. Our
committeeman Mr. Doy Gray acted
as official starter, giving each Scout
a slip of paper with the Scout's name
written thereon together with the
time of their starting. They were
dispatched individually and paced
two minutes apart Our Scoutmas
ter and Senior Patrol Leader, Archi
bald Masters, were stationed at the
City limits, one mile South, to re
ceive the candidates and note ' the
time of their arrival. Tenderfoot
Lawrence Hughson, while not eli
gible, also participated to gain ex
perience " preparatory . to the time
when he is eligible and takes the
real test Tenderfoot Fred Stump
acted as messanger and watched the
proceedings from the side lines..
In the evening , proceeding the
regular meeting, tests were continu
ed by describing, satisfactorily, the
contents of one store window after
observing four windows with an al
lowance of but one minute to gaze
at each window,' From the four
windows observed, Mr. A. H. Spran
er's attractive Window, made up of
good things to EAT was selected for
the test. ' Scouts were stationed at
distance in charge of Assistant
Scoutmaster, Chas. Fry and after;
our Troop Bugler Wesley Cook, had
passed .his test, Scouts were sum
moned, singly, by the bugler, to come
forward. : As they approached
close to the window they about fac
ed and described the contents of the
window. In addition to our Bugler
Wesley Cook, the other Scouts were
Lester Fairweather, Albert and Ray
mond Rossi,'.'.: Ernest Masters and
Fred Stump. For Wesley Cook this
completes 'every test required of a
Scout to qualify for the rank of
Second Class. f
' At the regular meeting Lawrence
Hughson and Jacob Schmidt passed
their Tenderfoot Test.
Saturday noon the 22nd opportuni
