Miss Mary Welter is. spending
the week at home from her
work in Portland. She recently
completed a course in nursing at
St. Vincent's Hospital and has
been kept quite busy ever since
by the great amount of sickness
and the scarcity of nurses in the
metropolis.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Stroud have
moved to the Mitzel House which
was recently closed down and in
consideration of the scarcity of
houses and rooms, have agreed
to let the men continue to oc
cupy the rooms on the upper"
floor. Mrs. Mitzel, feeling no
longer able to do the work of
the hotel since tye death of her
daughter left her alnne H
to close the hotel and visit her
married sons and daughters for
a time, so Beaverton again has
but the -one hotel.
