Many young ladies throughout tliis country a in giving nf their
services freely to (lie war work of America. Oregon is no excep
tion and throughout this state hundreds of devoted young women
are giving freely of tlicir time to make lighter the suffering which
war brings to fighting men and waiting women.

The Beaverton Times, recognizing the merit of the work these
young women are doing in Beaverton, has offered to give one-half
of all subscription money secured by these young ladies to the
fund which enables them to carry on their work. The response
from these young women has been so unanimous and spontaneous
that we have decided to extend it to all the state and surrounding
districts.
