Davis, whose farm lies about a mile west of Beaverton, brought to the Times office last Friday a half dozen ears as sam ples of his this season's corn crop. There is three varieties of the samples, Minnesota 13 and 23 and Pride of the North. All three varieties are beautiful specimens, every ear being well developed and mature corn. These, Mr. Davis informed us, are only average ears of his en tire crop of about thirteen acres. This corn in size of grain and ear compares favorably with corn grown in the accredited corn, states, . and the yield per acre also, Mr. Davis informs iis, compares as well. Some of the ears are eleven inches in length with as fully matured grins as you will see in Iowa or Nebraska corn fields. Benham Pastor Gilbert Recovers Bicycle It will be remembered that the Beaverton hardware store was broken into last winter and robbed of a lot of merchandise, among the stolen articles being a bicycle. Last Thursday Mr. Gilbert wts notified that a bicycle had been found by one of the Erickson boys near Progress, tallying in description with the one taken from his hardware store. Last Friday Mr. Gilbert went out and identified the bike as being the one taken from his store, and brought it home with him. While the bicycle shows consid erable usage it is yet in good condition. The name plate and the rack to held the bike upright were missing, therwise it was intact.
