Mrs. F. N. Johns entertained five
little girls last Saturday afternoon at
her country home in honor of her
daughter Helen's 6th birthday. Out
door games was enjoyed and dainty
refreshments were served by Mrs.
Johns. Guests were June Garfield,
Belva Mclntyre, Kathleen Walter,
Altha and Helen Johns;
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pinkerton left
Athena Monday by motor for Nampa,
Idaho and Nvssa. Oreeon.'At the lat
ter place they visit Nate Pinkerton
and family, and at Nampa they will
stop at the home of a cousin oi Mr.
Pinkerton. They expect to be gone
for a week. In their absence Carl
Calvert is tending the Pinkerton
lawn and flower garden.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hill of fort
land were recent guests at the homes
of Mrs. Theresa Berlin and Mrs.
Zeltha. Mdntvre. Mr. Hill is presi
dent of Hill's Military academy at
Portland, and Louis Berlin and Neil
Mclntyre were once students there.
Mrs. Hill is none other than the
author of the Mariam Miller column
in the Morning Oregonian.
