He had an excellent crop of, wheat from 900 acres. Beans on the Kirk ranch, which indicate a good yield will be 'threshed for the Eickhoff Products company. Rev. and Mrs. Dow and family will return from their summer sojourn in the mountains, returning to the Bap tist parsonage this week. Rev. Dow spent Sunday in the city and preached from his pulpit at the Bap tist church. The funeral of the late Chris Breding, well known Umatilla county farmer, was held at Pendleton, Tues day, from the German Lutheran church in that city. Mr. Breding is survived by his widow, two daughters and six sons. Fred Gross was slightly injured at hin farm home west of Athena the fore part of the week, when he was kicked on the arm by one of his mules. Fortunately the blow was a glancing one, otherwise iTed would not be at work now. Mrs. Max Wilson accompanied Mrs Bert Logsdon home from Joseph, for a visit over the week-end. Mrs. Logs don will return to Joseph again this week, where she will meet Bert, who went to the mountains with a party of friends on a fishing trip.
