Athena Boy Scouts
(By Scout Master LeRoy)
ine regular Tuesday evening
meeting next week will be replaced
by a trip to Walla Walla for the
monthly session of the Court of
Honor there.
Scouts from this troop will pass
tests before the Court and also the
. other scouts and troop officials that
go will get an insight into the prop
er proceedure in conducting the tests
The Court will convene v at seven
thirty p. m. at the County Court
house.
Every troop committeeman and
Court of Honor official should en
deavor to be there as well as any of
the parents that are interested in
scouting.
Saturday at 7:30 a. m. the troop
will meet at the scout hall for a
hike. The route will be up Wild
Horse creek to the Koepke place,
then cross country to the Weston
dam then to the Weston mountain
road, where a truck will meet them
to bring them home. One meal will
be cooked in the open and also a
lunch will be eaten about 3:00 p. m.
Each boy should bring his own equip
ment and supplies and then after the
hike has started they can pair off in
Buddy groups.
Any of the people of the com
munity that feel that they would like
to learn how to prepare a meal in
the open just follow the boys and you
will see some very appetizing dishes
prepared.
A troop committee meeting was
called Wednesday evening at the
scout hall. Regular business and the
troop activities were discussed. There
are several problems confronting
them that will need the assistance
of the community to help them put
over.
Only two patrol leaders were out
to the meeting Tuesday evening.
Lets have the leaders and the pa
trols all out for the Walla Walla
trip next meeting and show the
troop committee that they have a
job on their hands to keep pace
with the troop progress,
Saturday, November 17th, we are
planning on making a trip to Camp
Nuznupa. More details of this will
be announced later as we will have
to open the camp up and get the
beds etc.. in shaDe. We will nrnh.
ably leave here Friday afternoon
and return late Saturday evening.
Our first Star Scout will be award
ed his badge at tfie Walla Walla
Court and there are several more
in line for star scout rating.

to hang on to money and drove a
hard bargain. His house was a com

raccoons, armadillos, salamanders and
chameleons rummaged among rare
manuscrips, books, pictures, musical
instruments and furniture. The rnc

had nibbled up some of the poet's
manuscript, and a zebra which in the
end proved dangerous met the same
