ing for Portland, where she will
visit with her father who lives in
that city.

from a slight attack of pneumonia.
He was under the physician's care for

Joe Elliot, who was at the College

ment, is now. at the home of his sister,

Mrs. Willard Crabill suffered a
severe injury Sunday when climbing
a stair way to an attic. The top step
broke 'and Mrs. Crabill fell about
eight feet. .
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Meyer and daugh
ter were dinner guests at the B. B.
Richards home Sunday. Mr. Meyer
and family are leaving Sunday eve
ning for Portland.
M. I. Miller is employed in the

absence of Roy DeFreece during his
illness. "Pike" took up hit duties
Tuesday morning.
Mrs. Josephine E. Wright of Walla
Walla, cooking expert, demonstrated
her art to a class of twelve ladies in
the High school Domestic Science
room Tuesday afternoon.

which will facilitate a better runway
for vehicles and machinery.
Mrs. Laurence Knox (Savannah
Smith) writes Athena friends from
her home at Los Angeles, that she
contemplates coming to Athena for
a visit during the summer.
Mrs. D. T. Smith of Portland,
(Thelma McEwen) accompanied by
her little daughter, Patty, will spend
Memorial Day in this city at the
