The best typing papers for the week ending October 21 were as follows: Alberta Charlton, Areta Kirk, Emma Ringel, and Pearl Green, Faculty Miss Brodie and Miss Bateman spent the week-end in Milton. Miss Sellars motored to her home in Spokane over the week end. Mr. Miller, accompanied by Mr, and Mrs. Toole, motored to Milton Saturday afternoon,' where Mr. Toole umpired the game between Mac-Hi and Pendleton. , Grades' The primary room has grass grow ing on its sand table now. The third and fourth grades are planning a Hallowe'en party for Friday afternoon. The seventh and eight grades are planning a masquerade party for Fri day evening in the party room of the school house. ; Entertainment " The usual high school assembly was held Friday, October 21, at 9:00 A. M., in the school auditorium. Sing ing was the main feature of the pro gram, but at the close, yells led by the yell leader, Thena Russell, were given in honor of the coming game at Weston. " Student Body ; . A student body meeting was cal led at 1:00 o'clock Friday, October 21 to entertain a motion for buying flowers for "Mike" Wilson, who was hurt in the Walla Walla game. A meeting was called on Monday to decide upon buying flowers for Weldon Bell, who was hurt in the Weston ' game. The committee ap pointed by President Ray Johnston was Alberta Charlton,Areta Kirk and Clifford Wood. Athletics In a hard fought battle the Athe na and Weston football teams played to a 6-6 tie Friday afternoon on the Weston field. The scores of the game were made by both teams in the first half. Ray Johnston recovered a Weston fumbled ball and ran 60 yards for a touchdown, with splen did interference. Weldon Bell, Athe na's eight-end, was seriously injured in the second quarter of the game. The Athena line-up was as follows: Eldon Myrick, right-half; Lawrence Knight, left-hclf; Arthur Crowley, quarter-back; Ray Johnston, full back; Wilford Miller, left-end; Wal ter Huffman, left-tackle; John Kirk, left-guard; Oral Michener, center; Roy DeFreece, right-guard; Clifford Woods, right-tackle; Weldon Bell, right-end. Substitutions, Emery Rog ers for Weldon Bell. Classes The members of the bookkeeping Personal Mildred Roach has enrolled in the sophomore class of Athena high school. Weldon Bell is absent from school this week on account of a sprained back, which he received in the foot ball game with Weston, Friday. Mildred Street returned to school last Friday. . ' Jennamae Read returned to school Monday after visiting for a week in Portland, where she attended the Oregon-California game, and in Eu gene, where she visited with Lois Johnson. Jack Moore, Eldon Myrick, Arthur Crowley, Oral Michener, and Wayne Pittman attended the foot ball game at Milton Saturday between Mac-Di and Pendleton.
