MOCK WEDDING AT
MISCELLANEOUS SHOWER
Mrs. Raymond Geissel of Milton,
entertained a number of friends at a
miscellaneous shower for Miss Char
lotte Gross Friday evening at the
country home of Mrs. Jesse Myrick.
The rooms were attractively decorat
ed with tulips and sweet peas.
Games and music were enjoyed af
ter which a mock wedding was
staged. Those participating in the
ceremony were, Miss Charlotte Gross
bride; Miss Edna DeFreece, groom;
Miss Juanita Woodruff, minister;
Miss Dorothy Geissel, bridesmaid;
Miss Ethel Geissel, father; and little
Bobby Stacklie, ring bearer. Mis3
Genevieve Rogers played the wed
ding march and Miss Kathryn Mc
Intyre sang, "I love you truly." This
procedure furnished plenty of laughs
for the guests at the wedding, as it
was not without many laughable in
cidents; The gown worn, by Miss
Gross was the wedding gown of the
brides mother, and was 20 years old.
The gown of the bridesmaid was the
wedding dress of Mrs. Gertie Wood
and was 18 years old. Other games,
music and fun was enjoyed for a
while and prizes given to winners
of the games played. The guests then
repaired to the dining room where
at beautifully appointed tables, with
pink sweet peas centering each, de
licious refreshments were served by
Mrs. Geissel and Mrs. Myrick, assist
ed by Mrs. Miller. Miss Gross was
the recipient of many useful ani
beautiful presents.
The Junior class of the Athena
High school motored to Pendleton,
