The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lewis of Helix, died Wednes day. Interment was made in the Athena cemetery yesterday forenoon. Athena has been afflicted with ho boes for the past few weeks. Clark Nelson returned to his home in Pendleton Tuesday after present ing the Round-up piolures in this city and in Weston through Bawl Miller's theatre circuit. Mrs, J. G. Moore and obildren, of Cambridge, Idaho, were guests this week at the borne of her sister, Mrs. Alex. MoFadyen, and her brother, Jesse Smith, in this oity. - Bern Bannister haa four plowa run ning at present on rented land in the Cold Springs distriot. The soil in that neighborhood is working well and con siderable plowing is being done at this time. Dr. J. D. Plamondon is having a new garage built at his home in the north part of town. The officer turned tbe money over to the oity reoorder and tbe men were not brouhgt before that offioer for a hearing. Two fine deer heads, trophies from tbe hnnt of looal men to the Grande Bonde last fall, are on exhibition at B. N. Hawks' drug store. Harry Brett of Helix, charged with assault on Joe Bannister with a dan gerous weapon, waa aoquitted by tbe trial jury in the oirouit oourt tnis week. Tbe case grew out of a row ooourring in a saloon at Helix during tbe harvest season, when Brett used a billy on Bannister's bead with serious results.
