Dei! came near being the vio tim of a itareless rifle shot yesterday afternoon. Dr. Dell was in the aot of leaving an upstairs room in his borne, when a 25-35 rifle ; bullet oame whizzing through tbe window, passing near his head. The bullet struck tbe wall and fell on , top of a stand. . It has tha appearanoe of having struck some bard objeot before finding lodg ment in tbe Dell home and was fired from a gun in tbe hands of some oare less person in tbe east part of town, or probably in the Kirk field.
