A set of new maps of the celebrated W. and A. K. Johnson Grand Series," has been reoeived, to the great satis faction of teachers and pupils. Last Saturday was a very tnsy day at sohool. Professors Case and Mulkey assisted by a large number of boys, erected basket ball goals, trimmed the trees, oleaned the sohool yard and im proved the premises generally. Some one said : "You will find these people of Athena very close." We needed a little money for a school gymnasium. A students' oommittee was appointed, consisting of Messrs, Clarenoe Brotberton and Floyd Pink erton. In less than two hours the committee had secured subsorptions for nearly $100 every dollar of which is good. This certainly speaks well for Athena generosity and progress. There are cities where this could not have been done, and yet it was done in Athena. Nothing like smashing an old ' saying" onoe in a while, eh? There will be several athletic teams?
