Mrs. Isham Davis, of Walla Walla,

Mrs. Sarah Bowles and daughter,
who have been visiting at the Le Grow

home in Walla Walla Tuesday. Miss

Walla high school, has spent the past
summer vaoation . witb friends in
Seattle.

mountains at present. The families
of Imcien Gagnon, Louis LaBrasche
and Charles Wilkes were among those

from Woodward's Toll Gate. In tbat
vioinity game, including deer and bear
are said to be numerous.

Mattie. will soon remove from the
farm to Athena where they will occupy
the W. O. Read residence. Mr. and
Mrs. Read will move to tbe Coppock
farm, of wbioh Mr. Read will have
charge, having relinquished bis voca
tion of teaching.
Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Kirk went down
to Pendleton Wednesday to attend tbe
funeral of FordieJ. Taylor, son of H.
J. Taylor, who died at his home near
that city Tuesday. '""The young tiaan
was afflioted witb tuberoulosis, and
died at the age of 21. The funeral oc
curred yesterday at 10 a. m.

church at Dayton, Wash, preached to
a small congregation in the Atbena
church Tuesday evening. Mr. Harris
made a marked impression upon bis
