Justie Reed who was shot by David Lavender, Weston's city marshal, while resisting arrest Saturday is im proving to some extent and hopes are entertained for his reoovery. Reed in company with Jesse Mitohel, came down from the mountains and created a disturbance iu - Weston, and while attempting to aifest- fumy the officer used his revolver. One of tbe shots penetrated Reed's left bin, tbe ball lodging in the abdomen and perferat- ing the iutestines. Another shot killed Reed's horse. No blame whatever, is attached to the offloer's act.
