WESTON AND ADAMS LOCAL SEWS ITEMS FROM OTTB SISTER TOWNS. Incident, Events and Personal Men tion Found In the Leader and Advance. Weston. (Leader.) Joseph Irons, well and favorably Known at Weston, was recently wed ded at Dayton, Wash., to Miss' Dove van blyke. They will reside at Free water. . ' Rev. and Mrs. Dean Hamilton have looated for the winter at ElCajon, San Diego bounty, California. Dr. H. W, Learn, formerly of Weston mountain, is also there. Miss Bertha Long is improving nicely at Cashntt's sanitarium, and Mrs-. ,N. H. Nelson is convalescent Mrs. J. S.- Wheeler is undergoing treatment for an affection of the eyes. W. B. Bowman was in town Wednes day from his mountain homo. He reports that five inches of snow fell duiing Tuesday's storm, and Wedues day morning the mercury registered 22 degrees above zero. Lloyd Kinnear was injured Tuesday iu a runaway at Lamar gulch, being thrown from the rig. He was brought to town by Dr. Cashatt, and , is at present under the doctor's care at his borne in this city. The estate of the late J. W. Young has been duly appraised by S. A. Barnes, J. H. Price and G. DeGraw. The real estate is valued at $25,560 and the personal property at $11, 691.41, a total of $34,251.41. Mrs. 'J. M. Compton has leased the Weston hotel from Mrs. J. S. Wheeler who is unable to conduct it on account of her illness. Mrs. Compton, . who resides on Reed and Hawlev moun tain, is expected to move in next Mon day and take possession. They are waiting for an hun gry World to bend its knee and ask for bread.- A Weston citizen suggests to the Leader that as Portland, according to the Oregonian, seems to want a normal school pretty badly Weston present it with some empty buildings. The only condition is that Harvey Scott be designated to receive the gift one brick at a time. The announcement of the wedding of Miss Violet Bowlby and Professor Chessman, former members of the nor mal school faoulty, has been received. Both were very popular in social cir cles in Weston. Professor Chessman was very low with the typhoid fever at Berkeley Calif, when the marriage, took place. - His recovery is hoped for by a host of friends and weir wishers. Herman Hessel aud Andrew Larson have returned from their trip to the king's domain. Mr. Hessel invested iu a $4500 hotel at Airdrie, a young and growing town iu a good farming district 20 miles for Calgary. Ferguson, of Seattle, visited at the home of Mr. Ferguson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. 8. Miss Katie will visit with friends at Astoria awhile before re turning. Boy Elsworth aud J. F. Sevey were down from their stock ranch on Meacham creek the first of the week. They are now busily engaged in gathering up and delivering the stock they have had up there for summer range. J. H. Boulaton, who has been spend ing several months at ?alisco, Mexico, is borne once more for a visit He thinks that country a good place for a man with money to investigate. The chances for making money are good. C. D. Watrus spent Monday in Pen dleton attending a divorce suit in which be was one of the principal actors. He was the defendant in which Mrs. Mary L Watrus sued for a divorce alleging as a cause "cruel and inhuman treatment" Any ex cuse is good sometimes.
