Gray, representing the "Promoter, "a weekly publication soon to be launched upon the journalistic sea at Pendleton, was in the city yes terday in the interest of bis paper. The Promoter is not to enter tbe field as a local newspaper, but as its name indicates, is for tbe promotion of the welfare of the entire county.- , VjHr: and Mrs. George W. Bradley f arrived in Athena Tuesday evenipg, after a two-weeks' honeymoon in Port land. At present Mr. Bradley and his bride are stopping at the St Nichols hotel. YMr. and Mrs. Walter Ely aud Mr. Charles Gerking and Miss Fay Gerking were guests Wednesday at ' the wed ding of Mr. Wilbur Woods and Miss Beatrice Bradshaw, of Weston, which ocourred at tbe Hotel Pendleton, in that city at 13:30. Sixteen guests were present and a luncheon was serv ed in the dining room soon after the ceremony. The young couple will make their home in Weston, where the bride's parents reside. Among the Portland gentlemen who specially honored tbe Press' yesterday with a visit, were A. P. Tifft,'attorney at law; O. R. Ball, manager of the American Type Founders Co, ; C. D. Bruun,'kmanager Blake McFall com pany, and Hugh McGuire, the genial president of the Pacific Paper Co.
