Jacobs of this city is in re ceipt of the sad intelligence of the death of a sister and a brother. Both deaths occurred within a month. Miss George anna Jacobs at her death was aged 55 years, and her home paper in Virginia pays a glowing tribute to her womanly character, saying "she deserves more than mere mention, for she was one whose mission was in the home, away from the gaze of the public. She ex pressed a willingness to die, and spoke of death as one talks of a journey." The brother, A. R. Jacobs, died a month later in Fairfax county, Virginia, and was a man highly respected by all who knew him. On next Tuesday and Wednesday, March 8 and 9, Mrs. Helen D. Harford will be in the city in the interests of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Tuesday there will be a meeting at the Christian church at 3 p. m, Wednesday will be a county W. C. T.
