Tho strong wind the first of the
week smashed in a large plate glass
window in the Hub Cotbing Store. The
glass had previously been cracked by
a run-away team dashing a rock in
to it. The glass was badly demol
ished by the wind and sonic clothes
in the window were damaged by wa
ter.
W. M. Swart and son, Wayne, of
San Diego, arrived in Bandon tho
first of the week. They walked the
entire distance, visiting every town
along the coast, and Mr. Swart says
Bandon looks better to him than any
small city they passed through. They
will remain in Bandon and will be
joined by tlio rest of the family in the
near future.

the Coquille river this year the Coos
Bay News says: In early days there
were very few chinook salmon in
the Coquille river, but it was one of

silversides. Some years ago chinook
fry were taken from the South Coos
river hatchery and planted in the Co
quillc, and every year since that time
more have been liberated there, with
tho result that the chinook run is in
creasing, j
