city from Myrtle Point yesterday.

down to Bandon on business yester

Miss Henry, librarian at tho public
library, was a Marshfield visitor one
day last week. Sho visited the Marsh
public library.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bultman of
Marshfield are spending a few days
in Bandon, guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Ray McNair, nnd other friends.
Mrs. M. D. Sherrard underwent an
operation for appendicitis at Emer
gency hospital Saturday which prov
ed successful and she is getting along
nicely now.
Dr. G. W. Leslie of Marshfield, who
has been visiting at the C. F. Pape
homo for a few days, left today for
Port Orford, whero he will take in
the Agate Carnival.
Wm. Candlin, representing the Pa
cific Paper Co. and other Portland
wholesale houses was in Bandon Sat
urday calling on his customers. Mr.
Candlin left Sunday for Portland on
a business trip.
Mrs. C. F. Pape entertained Mon
day afternoon in honor of her guest,
Miss Alice Tickell, of Marshfield.
Sewing was the order of the after
noon and a very enjoyable afternoon
was spent. Dainty refreshments were
served.
Friends in Bandon have received
announcement of the nrrival of a 6
pound girl at the home of Mr. and
Airs. L. P. Nichols at Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. Nichols both taught in.
tho Bandon schools last year.
C. R. Moore has returned from
Yaquina Bay, where he has been for
a couple of weeks taking an outing.
E. II. Fish has accepted a position
in tho office of the A. F. Estabrook
Company. He is keeping the books
nnd assisting in other office work.
Dr. R. V. Leop drove to Myrtle
Point in his new Reo Sunday and
while there was run into by Henry
Herman, badly mashing a fender
and bending the framo of the car. He
drove over to Marshfield yesterday
where he got tho car straightened out
again. The accident was caused by
Hermann being on the wrong side of
the street.
Mrs. H. L. Hopkins, who has been
spending thes ummcr in Eugene with
her husband, visiting nt the home of
tho lntter's parents, returned home
Saturday, but Prof. Hopkins remain
ed for a longer stay and will prob
ably arrive home about the middle of
the month. He has been doing some
work in the summer school at the
University of Oregon.
J. L. Krononburg and family, who
returned from their auto trip to Ore
gon and California points Saturday,
report a very pleasant trip, the only
mishap to mar their pleasure was
when little George had the misfor
tune to cut his foot badly while
chopping wood. This, however hap
pened in the first part of tho trip,
but George was game and did not
want to come back.
