The Recorder sees no causo foi
complaint with Congressman Haw
ley. Ho has worked earnestly anc
well for the interests of this district
He has succeeded in lnosj; of his un
dertakings, and where he has failec
it has not been for want of conscien
tious effort. Ho is entitled to th(
nomination at the hands of the Repub

In discussing the business outloo'
in Coos county the Coos Bay Time,
makes the following optimistic re
mark: "Confidence in the futur
of Coos Bay and all Coos county wa,
never greater than it is .today. Con
sidcring the general condition of thi
country investors arc- indisposed t
buy except at bargain counter price!
while present owners having full con
fidencc in tho future refuse to mak
concessions to induce sales. Thes.
features make the realty market in
actiyo but it means only a temporar;
marking time. The future of Coo
Bay is as great as its resources ar
rich, and its people are as confiden
of its possibilities as need be. The
building of the 1 ail way, the develop
ment of the harbor continues nnc
these are the things that make con
ditions good here when other sec
tions are suffering from stagnation.'

Attendants at the council meetin;
Wednesday night were given an ex
ample of official favoritism whicl

the pamphlets for the spring olec
