L. A. Liljtqvist, Deputy Prosecu
ing Attorney for this district, and
Miss Emma Sherwood of Coquille,
were married at the home ot the
Grille’s parents in Coquille, Wednes
day evening, by Archdeacon Hors
fall of this city.
Mr Liljeqvist is one of the* promi
nent young attorneys of Coos conn
ty, and is at present deputy prose
cuting attorney, lies ides having a
large independent legal practice.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. A J. Sherwood of Co
quille. Mr. Sherwood is als » one of
the leading attorneys of the county.
, Mr. Liljeqvist is well known in
Bandon, having been connected with
several cases in this city, and his
official position also gives him 1 wide
acquaintance throughout the county.
Bandon is a mighty guoJ town—in fact there are none better
for the size on the map. Most of Bandon's people are boosters;
but thrie are always some hiuxkers in every locality, There are
knockers who knot k just ior thr sake of knocking; and there are
boosters who boost just tor the sake of boosting. The one is no
greater menace to a town than the other.
There is a legitimate kind of boosting—that is merely telling
the truth The truth about Coos and Cuiry counties is sufficient,
the truih about Bandon is suftvient: to tell any more is misleading
and injurious.
There is no use of say ing things about this country that can
not be substantiated by the facts. The place is good enough and
we can “deliver the goods ’ in every instance.
What Bandon needs is to support her own indust ties, use
Bandon made goods as mu- h as possible. Buy your goods from
Bandon merchants, use the products of Coquille valley farms and
help build up this section in every way possible.
We have an intelligent cit zenship and we have the possibili
ties of a much greater country than many of us think, but the fact
remains that a careful conservative course of boosting is worth
more to any town or coun'ry than all the unwarranted statements
that can be made
We can raise fruit here equal to any in the United States.
For dairying, gardening and many kinds of diversified farming we
do not need to take a back seat for any country on earth. Then
too, we have our great lumber industry that cannot be excelled.
In fact we have resources—all we need is the proper development
of those resources and this can be accomplished by merely sup
porting our home tow n and home industiies in a proper manner.
Think it over and see w hat you can do to develop the country.
